New York State Licensure Bill for Creative Arts Therapists

The bill was signed by Governor Pataki on 9 December, 2002. Masters level Creative Arts Therapists can now be licensed to practice psychotherapy in the state of New York.  

The Fair Access Coalition for Testing (FACT)

NCCATA continues to be active in FACT. Since its inception in 1995, FACT has been gaining momentum, with several thousand organizations joining this coalition. For those of you who are also members of other professional organizations, you might ask them whether they have joined or are supporting the Fact coalition. There are a number of reasons why creative arts therapists should be involved -- most significantly, parts of the FACT policy could actually block us from using the assessment tools that are part of our disciplines.
